We Call It Acieeed

The wonderful Acid Ted blog has been posting interviews with some of the key figures behing the bootleg scene of the early 2000's this week, and interviews with some chancers also.

My interviews are here and here, but read up on the history also from Frenchbloke, Soundhog and Cartel Mike. Think there's more to come. Someone does need to write a book on this.

Ice Ice Bacon

So last week was the launch night for Underground Bacon in Aberdeen - featuring Faither of E-Jitz, Pom Deter, Thriftshop XL and yours truly. A heady mix of bootleg / mashups, rock, rave, electronica, drum & bass, reggae - the lot. All the kind of stuff you would not expect to find on a typical club night. We were giving away free CDs to the first 100 people, but you can now download all the sets from the mix cd over at mixcloud.

Here for your delectation are the individual mixes though. Hope to see y'all at the next one.

That Much Is True

What seems to be rare these days ... a bootleg / mashup - what The Human League might sound like if they were produced by Chic .... enjoy !

TB or not TB

Finally having the chance to update my website and I realise I've completely failed to mention the "Acid Reign" compilation from Oh That's Good Music which features a track by myself - please go and buy it (Amazon, iTunes, Beatport and I'm sure there's more) ! Here's a minimix of the album below so you can get a taster of what to expect.

On My Stereo

A trip down memory lane for me - ten consecutive years of the tunes that mattered to me put together into 5 minutes at the behest of whiffy tidings - where you can find full details of the tracks, what they mean to me, and a slightly dubious memory of which year they may have been released.

It Takes 6 minutes

It takes 6 minutes to watch this, but it may take many years to recover.

E=APC2: Legendary Stuff

Giorgio Moroder - perhaps one of the most important men in the development of Electronic Music ? Very difficult to argue with when you look at his resume. This man, together with Donna Summer (RIP) basically invented techno. It's was a huge honour therefore to be asked to remix his track "E=MC2" which I'm pleased to say you can now buy from many digital outlets (such as iTunes, Juno, AmazonBeatport). Huge thanks must go to APC and MB Disco.

The remix package is completed with remixes by Dirty McKenzie, Copycat, Divide & Kreate, +Vat and Phil Retrospector.

Here's a low quality bitrate version to preview of my remix ...

Analog Controlled

A few months ago I was asked to remix a track from Analog Cuvée as part of a remix / mash-up album ... well you can download the whole thing now. Fine remixes from The Young Punx, Phil Retospector, +Vat, Flying White Dots, Celebrity Murder Party, Copycat, Divide & Kreate, Party Ben & DJ Schmolli form the whole album. Something a little different !

Check out the tracks below and download from the mini-site here

Cheers !
