Thursday's nearly the weekend ...

This has been quite a long time in the making actually. It's a sort of longer term plan do do a series of mixes, but it was pointed out to me the previous mix in this series was made in December 2005. That's just too long ago. Again, it's a pretty accurate representation of the stuff I'm playing out just now, but I've also done a fair bit of editing and looping on this to give the mix a bit more excitement in places and afford some tracks a completely new structure. Despite this, I have also tried to keep it to sound like realistic: it's not impossible to do any of these transitions live with some mixers that are out there now. Crank it up loud and enjoy. Download managers at the ready ....

01 Klaxons - Atlantis To Interzone (Yukski's Saucisses Wanna Dance To Dance Remix) 02 Rose & Sinden - Me Mobile (Dukbeats Ringtone Riddim) 03 30Hz - Space Age (Alex Metric Remix) 04 Drummatic Twins - Pumped Up Funk 05 CJ Bolland - Riot (Remix) 06 Trabant - The One (Para One Remix) 07 MSTRKRFT - Street Justice 07 08 The Loose Cannons - Raw (Kissy Sell Out Mix) 09 Hadouken! - Tuning In (Remix) 10 Simian Mobile Disco - It's The Beat 11 Shiny Toy Guns - Le Disko (Boys Noize Fire Dub Mix) 12 Dorp - Extreme (Kissy Sell Out Mix) 13 Mantrix - Smack My Beat Up 14 Unique 3 - The Theme 06 15 Plump DJ's - Mad Cow 16 DJ Killer - Acid (Plaza Da Funk Remix) 17 Funk D'Void - Diabla (Funk D'Void's Heavenly Mix)

And another thing ...I want to thank, and you ought to visit Gary Rowe's Black Mix website: he did this off his own back, unprompted, which is flattering to say the least, and which is why some people have "discovered" this mix has been available at his website for the last week. Cheers Gary, and I'll try to make sure Friday arrives faster than Thursday did.

Star And Nuttin' Less

It's been more than a few months in the making, but gawd bless 'er, Holestar has come up trumps ...
Some of you may know that I'm a part time e-jitz: a while ago me and fellow hoodlum Richie Deluxe came up with a little ditty featuring La Moz et De'Lacy (amongst many many others - too many to mention). Take off the vocals, e-mail it to the UK's (the world's?) premier drag-not-drag act (is that fair J?) and you get this. What's more, you can buy this.

Get Teenage Kicks ...

I've really got the good people at gothrobot to blame for this one ... which is why they got the heads up on it first. It's that man James Murphy doing his best Phil Oakey impression on vocals with the joyful bleeps of BSOD providing a counterpoint. Ten bonus points if you can name the track the "tick tock" vocal sample comes from. Expect more Murphy related shennanigans very very soon ...

You should also go visit the BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death?) myspace also - some pretty darn good tracks there: I'm especially keen on the most excellently titled "Roflcopter".
